Many products need proper mixing: sugar and other ingredients dissolved into water, active ingredients blended evenly, or particles kept from settling. A mixing tank does this with an agitator installed inside.
Parts of a mixing tank
- Tank — stainless body with dished heads and sanitary design.
- Agitator — motor and gearbox on top, shaft, and impeller inside.
- Impeller — chosen for the duty: paddle for gentle mixing, propeller or turbine for strong circulation, anchor for viscous products.
- Baffles (optional) — wall plates so liquid doesn't just swirl but actually mixes.
Matched to the product
Speed, impeller size and motor power are set from volume, viscosity and mixing goal. Mixing tanks can also have heating/cooling jackets, speed control (VFD) or a homogenizer for products such as cosmetics and sauces.
